Born and raised in East Los Angeles. He graduated from Montebello High School. Started training in martial arts at the age of 14 and has continued ever since.
He is a brown belt in Tae-kwon-do, black belt in Scorpion Combat, purple belt in BJJ from Aloisio Silva and a brown belt going for his black in Kakato Jiu Jitsu.
He has been training in Boxing and Kickboxing for over ten years. He holds a record of 10 amateur kickboxing bouts with only one loss.
He started fighting MMA in 1999 and has been a fighter for organizations such as: King of The Cage, Gladiator Challenge, UAGF, and the current TFA featherweight champion. He holds a record of 8 wins and 5 losses.
Armando has been teaching for over eleven years. He enjoys working with all age groups from four years of age to sixty years of age. He is an MMA instructor for California Kickboxing, also teaches the men and women Self-defense classes at the Glendale Community College for the past 6 years.
